The cutest thing that EVER happened
Yesterday after school Elliott was playing and then all of a sudden stated, "I am going to go put something fancy on".
He came back down about 20 minutes later with his fancy clothes on. And cologne.

"Wow!" I said, "what's the occasion?"
"I'm going to take you on a date". He said. Very seriously.
Immediately I had to hold back the tears. My God.
He proceeded, "Hillary is coming over to watch the babies and I am taking you to the movies. But you will have to get dressed up.....and Daddy can come too if he wants."
I wasn't sure how to respond. Did he really want to do this? Was he pretending? So I asked him where the movie theatre was. "Next to the Weis and the guitar store".
Oh. I guess he was serious.
So then I asked him who was going to pay for it and he responded, "well you will have to! And you'll HAVE to drive me."

Unfortunately I had small group last night, but we are going to try and go tonight. He is quite the charmer.

My Rocky

Over the holidays my husband MADE me watch Rocky. He was extremely disappointed that I had never watched it before. I tried to argue that I had no interest in it, why would I? I am a girl, I am not from Philadelphia, and my sister and I liked things like Muppet Babies and West Side Story when we were young.
Even my brother in law got into the argument all the way from Brazil and insisted that I watch it. Threatened to disown me and remove me from the Shores of Grace team. It was pretty serious.
So, I gave in and watched the first one........and well.....kinda liked it. So I watched the second one. And then I watched the third one too. I was disappointed in the third one so I stopped there.
Anyway, Elliott was around when the movies were on, doing his usual running around, playing with his bus, jumping, etc. Even at 5 1/2 he does not like to sit for a movie. I didn't even think he was really paying attention until the next day when he started running in place and continuously telling me that he wanted to be strong like Rocky.
Then a few weeks later, after no mention was made at all about Rocky, I was standing in the living room and Elliott ran up to me and whisper/sang "getting stronger!"
I almost fell on the floor laughing. Cutest thing ever.
And then a few weeks after that, this happened:

It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but Elliott's eye had a major collision with his cousin Josef's head. First his eyebrow swelled up and then over the next few days it began turning a beautiful array of colors....

He was very worried about going to school until we told him he looked like Rocky. He grinned, and went to school.
The End.

Ra

This is my Great Aunt, Sarah. We call her Ra because when Elliott was little he used to call her Rara. Or Ra for short.

She is 87 years old.
Up until a few months ago, she lived in the same house she had been living in since she was (I think) 12 years old.
She loves to clean, iron, and do laundry.
But most of all she LOVES children.
She took care of her younger brothers and sisters when she was young. She took care of many of her nieces and nephews, including my mother. Then she took care of my sister and I, and all of our cousins. And now she comes over to my house once a week to help me out, fold my laundry, and play with my kids. It is my kids favorite day of the week. Elliott doesn't even want to go to school on Sarah days.
She's having some trouble hearing these days, but the kids don't seem to mind. She still plays hide and seek, hide the toy (usually in a shirt sleeve), and still crawls around on the floor to play cars.
She is amazing. I cannot complain about getting old because of her. Well, I should not.
She often forgets how old she actually is, maybe this is the key. My mom told me that one time they were out driving around and saw an older woman trying to walk across the street using a walker. Sarah took pity on the woman and said something like, "poor lady, she must be 80".
I love her. <3
I"m really bad at this
Ummmm yeah so I haven't posted since November. I guess I was busy. It's certainly not that I didn't have anything to write about!

My 5 year old got his first taste of missionary work. Here he is with his Daddy in a favela in Curitiba, Brazil. He took a whole suitcase of his own toys and handed them out to the kids there.

Then is was my birthday and Luke took me out to dinner and to see the Sound of Music at the Fulton. It was an awesome birthday.

Then Elliott had his very first elementary school holiday concert. Can you see him? Yeah, either could we. But he was super cute and I'm pretty sure he actually sang.

Christmas!!!!

My baby girl turned 3!!!

And worst of all my BABY turned 2! He no longer says he's a baby. My heart is broken.

Oh yes, and my hottie husband grew a beard.
That's all for now folks! Can someone remind me to do this every once in a while! Geez!
